What the Best Students Do
Having taught piano for many years I have noticed some qualities in students that make the most progress. It is true that some students seem to possess more or less natural or innate ability but these abilities do not ultimately determine the success of a student.
- will play all kinds of music
- consistency
- will learn hard and easy music with the same intensity
- will do all the seemingly silly exercises I proscribe week after week
- talent is a myth
